東京にて活動する5人組インディ・ロック・バンド Waater の 2nd EP がリリース決定

秋田県出身の5人組 Yuya Akiyama（Vo/Gt）、Shion Hosobe（Gt）、Taisei Watanabe（Ba）、Takashi Kudo（Syn）、Taiki Yano（Dr）から成るインディ・ロック・バンド Waater は、小・中・高が同じ幼馴染で結成されている。

バンドのフロントマンである Akiyama が仙台にて宅録ソロ・プロジェクトとして作曲活動を始めたのがバンドの始まりである。2017年の夏ごろからサウンド・スタイルを確立し、メンバーを誘い今の体制に。現在は主に東京を拠点に活動をしている。

2018年にセルフ・タイトルの 1st EP『Waater』をデジタル・リリース。80～90s のシューゲイザーやノイズ・ポップといった海外インディの影響を受けたパンク・スタイルのサウンドは、彼らが日常で関わる音楽を無意識に音へ具現化していくような一種の初期衝動的な感覚を得ることができる。

2枚目の EP となる本作『Escapes』は、よりドリーミーに、よりノイジーに彼らのスタイルを突き抜けた作品となっている。10s 西海岸サーフ・ポップ世代や Captured Tracks 周辺のローファイ・サウンドと共鳴する彼らの鳴らす音は、日常からエスケイプするために相応しい最高の一枚と言えるだろう。
